VTC licences
What a VTC licence is, who owns it, and how Bugama tracks which car carries each licence over time.
A VTC licence (vehículo de turismo con conductor) is the authorisation that allows a car to be used for private hire with a driver in Spain. Licences belong to a company and are linked to a specific vehicle, but a licence can move to another car, for example when the old one is replaced.
How Bugama tracks licences
- Each licence has a number, issuing authority, validity dates and owner company.
- The link between licence and car is dated, so you always know which car carried it on any day.
- Transfers close the old link and open the new one in a single step, so a car is never left without its licence in the records.
- Licence documents are stored on the licence and mirrored to Google Drive.
