Damage reports & insurance claims
How a damage report moves through workshop, insurance, HR and payroll, and how the driver share is handled.
A damage report (parte de daños) is the file for a repair: report number, photos, repair valuation, insurance route and, if applicable, the driver involved. Reports can start from an inspection, an insurance assessment, a platform claim or a driver report.
Insurance routes
- Do not file: the company pays the repair.
- Our insurer: the claim goes to the fleet’s policy.
- Other party: the claim goes to the other driver’s insurer.
The workshop does not take the car apart until insurance has chosen a route, which avoids losing a claim because of an early repair.
Driver share
The repair valuation and what the driver pays are different numbers. The driver share is capped, signed on the phone and, above a threshold, split into instalments that are posted to the driver’s ledger or payroll.
